Three months ago, Sofia Ysabel Rosal was born with Down’s Syndrome and Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a congenital heart disease. Currently she is undergoing dialysis to address kidney failure apart from the other tests and procedures that are regularly administered to keep her condition stable. But through all these, Sofia remains strong and steadfast in her will to live a full life with her family. She is truly an inspiration and a shining example of how we should face a life filled with seemingly insurmountable adversities. (from Runner’s Runner)

Sadly, Sofia Ysabel went home to God yesterday. 😦

From their website:

She put up a really good fight until the end, but some good fights cannot just be won. Our hearts go out to Nhatz, Trish, Yoachim and Tyler, the family that she has left behind. Sofia will always be in our hearts and minds, continuing to inspire us to be brave and to stand up against any adversity that would come our way.

In memory of Sofia, the little girl with a big, big, brave heart, and with the blessing of her family, we are pushing through with our benefit run. The Rosal and Dizon families are currently determining a worthy beneficiary of our event and we will update everyone once this has been finalized.

We thank everyone who has shown their full support for this event since we’ve begun setting it up 3 weeks ago. We hope that you continue to support us until the culmination of this activity.”

I hope we can all support this run for a cause.  Rest in Peace Sofia Ysable!
