The Real Eco-Friendly Race: No Plastic Cups @ Nathan Ridge Run!

Nathan Sports Gear, a world leader in innovative hydration and reflective gear, and multisport accessories, challenge Filipino runners in a unique test of athleticism, endurance and environmental advocacy as they bring us the very first Nathan Ridge Run in celebration of their first year anniversary in the Philippines.

The Nathan Ridge Run will commence on November 20, 2011 at the breath taking greeneries, uphill road course and never before opened running areas of Tagaytay Highlands. It will feature 5k, 10k and 21k categories. Participants will be given access to some Highlands’ amenities and discounts. Also, there will be a service bus from ROX to Tagaytay Highlands which runners can avail for only Php 350, just indicate it in the registration form.

"The Peak" is not the finishline, it is a special check in point in the race course and the first 21K runner who reach "The Peak" will receive a special prize from Nathan! Cool eh?

As Nathan promotes environmental awareness and concern, they will be giving away FREE NATHAN HANDHELD WATER BOTTLES which will be included in the race kit. The runners are advice to use the free water bottle or any hydration equipment they have during the race as THERE WILL BE NO PLASTIC CUPS on hydration stations. Instead, Nathan will be setting up conveniently placed refilling stations with cold water and Gatorade along the course.

I was able to attend the Route Recon of the race yesterday at and I tell you, this is a very challenging uphill road race! It’s going to be one the most endurance challenging race you will ever experience! This is not your typical 21k, 10k or 5k road race! So if you are the type who loves to keep on challenging yourself this one is for you!

  1. Hi CJ! First time to comment on your blog. Great blog btw! Congrats and keep it up!

Question: May finisher’s medal ba ‘to and about the race route, what do you think is the percentage of the uphill part? Like mga 50-60% ba uphill or hindi naman? Worried kasi talaga ako dyan eh baka mag cramps ako at hindi makatapos. First 21K ko kasi ‘to. TIA! =)

    • Thanks Dom!

Finisher’s Medal: no confirmation yet from the organizers, but they are considering it. Will let them know your concern! 😀

Race Route: It’s Tagaytay Highlands so it’s mostly uphill, we only run 3K of the course during the test run so for 21K, i say expect more.

Since it’s your first 21K, good training ito. For sure, PR ka sa next 21K mo! 😀

    • hi kenie!

i suggest you avail the service bus provided by nathan na lang. Exclusive kasi ang Tagaytay Highlands, di nagpapasok ng public transpo.

but just to answer your question: take a tagaytay bus along aguinaldo highway tapos baba ka sa crossing. tryk ka hanggang highlands pero hanggang gate lang yun.

i’ll ask nathan kung may shuttle service sa maingate ng highlands.

  2. yup it’s better if there’s a shuttle waiting at the Maingate. South runners (without cars) would loved this.

as experienced last X-Terra run (same venue), we hitched our way out of Highlands to the maingate instead of going back to Market Marktet then ride back home to Cavite.

buti n lang accomodating ang Security team.

  3. i hope the organizer will consider the suggestion of Zipzapzep na may shuttle from main gate for the runners from south. last mizuno run meron sila shuttle pero late.

  4. Nice blog, congrats and thanks for the info. Do you happen to know what time are we going to leave Tagaytay Highlands? Will it be right after the run or a few hours for us to be able to relax and enjoy the place before going back to manila? Is it possible to avail a 1-way ticket only? This is for those who will be asking their family to fetch them (runners) then probably go somewhere else in Tagaytay (Family day). Is there a limit how many friends/family member can we tag along in a car? I hope there’ll be a parking area near the Finish area 🙂

  5. kuya cj! 🙂 tell me more about the route. kakayanin ko kaya? 🙂 i guess ill be running 21k. ngayon pa lang. nageendurance na ako. nkakaexcite! balitaan nyo ko kung may free kit ha? 🙂 great blog. full of info 🙂

    • Thanks AJ! Kayang kaya mo to! Ikaw pa. Ipodium mo to! 😀

The route is mostly uphill roads, no trail, so its just like the usual ortigas/mckinley hills plus nice sceneries & cold weather! 😀

I’m rooting for you to do a podium or atleast be the first person to reach “The Peak”. 😀

      See you!.

  6. Does anyone have a contact # for the organizers etc…? I would like to make a request for sponsorship kits if possible for TEAM LOGAN / R.O.A.M. – Runners On A Mission. I can be reached at 091621411541 or 09085432302 or
