The Salomon Xtrail Pilipinas takes off on March 31 at Tagaytay Highlands

On March 31, innovative mountain sport brand Salomon brings beginners and elite runners a unique eco-friendly experience with the Salomon Xtrail Pilipinas 2012 in one of the most scenic places in the Philippines, Tagaytay Higlands.

The Salomon Xtrail is a global event, held in different countries from Europe to Asia. On the 31st of March, Salomon Xtrail Pilipinas will be happening at Tagaytay Highlands. The event will feature three different categories, catering to beginner, intermediate, and elite runners. All distances will include a road-to-trail terrain, with 6-km and 12-km distances for the beginner and intermediate levels. The 24-km category will include vertical ascents, simulating a “mountain run” for which Salomon embodies, being a “Mountain sports company.”

The 6-, 12-, and 24-km categories will have both men’s and women’s divisions. Shuttles will be provided for the participants for this out-of-town trail run, transporting them to and from the site. Pick-up point/s will be announced soon.

The Salomon Xtrail Pilipinas is a Green Event; plastic cups and  bottles will not be provided at hydration stations. All runners are then encouraged to bring their own hydration belt or bags. For those who will be needing assistance with their gear, Nathan Handheld bottles will be offered to participants at a 50 percent off rate. The availment option is included in the registration sheet.

Inclusive in the race fees are Salomon merchandise:  shoebag, headgear, and a souvenir technical tee.  Also included in the registration fee are the race bib and timing chip. Post-race brunch will be provided for the  race finishers.

Race registration fees are:

24km mountain run – P1,200 (with Salomon Shoebag, Salomon Headgear, Salomon Xtrail technical tee, post-race meal, finisher’s medal)

12km road-to-trail – P1,000 (with Salomon Shoebag, Salomon Headgear, Salomon Xtrail technical tee, post-race meal)

6km road-to-trail – P750 (with Salomon Shoebag, Salomon Headgear, Salomon Xtrail technical tee, post-race meal)

Cash prizes, medals, and premium Salomon items await the winners and top finishers. This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of its partners: R.O.X. (Recreational Outdoor eXchange), Tagaytay Highlands, BDO, TIMEX, Nathan Performance Gear, Gatorade, High5, Sea-to-Summit, Gold’s Gym, Red Dragon Active Energy Drink, and The Starting Line.
