Last week, I did back to back races. I joined the Merrell Adventure Run (5K) at Mt. Sinai, Rizal last Saturday and the National Geographic Channel Earth Day (21K) last Sunday at Bonifacio Global City. And oooh, I also ran the Safeguard 2xu half marathon, the prior week. Truth is, sometimes, it makes me worry that I might get injured because of too much activities without proper training and nutrition. That’s why, I got curious when I heard about Anlene Total, for all I know, Anlene is a milk drink for women. But I was told that it is now being recommended to runners and other sports enthusiasts that’s why I did a little bit of inquiry about this new product of Fonterra, the makers of Anlene Total.

In the Philippines, Fonterra is one of the leading fast-moving consumer goods companies and proud of its role in bringing the best quality dairy products to the Filipino consumer. Their three major brands are Anlene, Anchor and Anmum. 🙂

Anlene Total with Nano Calcium & Glucosamine

Their newest product, the Anlene Total contains twice the calcium of a regular milk, and now with added glucosamine. Glucosamine is an essential building block of joint cartilage that helps protect your bones and fortify cartilage, protecting them against damage caused by everyday physical activities.

As runners, we’re racing almost every week and do our maintenance runs almost twice or thrice a week. This for sure will make us strong runners. This will improve our speed, endurance and over all performance come race day. But do you know that our joints experience daily wear and tear? Even everyday pressure from usual activities such as walking and climbing the stairs can cause degeneration of the joints, so what more for us who run 10ks or half marathons almost every week? Our joints will sure be in trouble without proper nutrition.

What is glucosamine and what is it used for?

Glucosamine, as I mentioned earlier, is the building block of joint cartilage. It is naturally found in our body but the production is reduce as we grow older. Without glucosamine, the joint cartilage that tears apart will not be regenerated and will cause us injuries. This will put our joints & bones on a bad light and we  do not want that to happen.

That’s why I am very thrilled to try this new product,  Anlene Total.  I think it will be good for me after a long run and in the long run. 🙂
