Alaska Ironkids Aquathlon: Race & Play!

It was a fun Sunday morning for all the participants and expectators of the Alaska Ironkids Aquathlon, held at The Village Sports Club, BF Homes, Paranaque last February 9. I was personally delighted to see those young kids, battle it out in the pool and run towards the finish line with all their hearts! It was also nice to see their parents and their whole family cheering for them from the start all the way to the end of the race.

Alaska Ironkids Aquathlon is swimming and running event specially made for kids, our future champions. They are divided into age groups of 6-8, 9-10, 11-12 & 13-14. There’s a new “Play” category which caters to kids who just want to experience the sport without the pressure of the competition. And there’s the “Race” category, where participants will compete for the first, second and third spots, for each age group, boys and girls.

Kudos to Alaska Milk Corporation and to Sunrise Events for staging events like this. I personally believe that the best way to instill dispiline, respect & determination to our kids is thru sports. At an early age, it is important for them to experience winning, losing, being a part of a team and knowing what they are capable of. I actually envy these kids because I was not exposed to this kind of activties before. This event is a sure “character builder” for kids. I hope more kids can experience activities like this. 🙂

Congratulations to all the participants! You are our future champions! 🙂
