It was a super cold morning run for all the participants of the Takbo.ph 20 Miler yesterday at Bonifacio Global City. It was my first race for the year after a long hiatus from running and any kind of work out (thanks to the holidays!)
Runners of 32k, 16k, 10k & 5k events braved the cold morning breeze and prepared themselves for an early rainy run as Kuya Kim forecasted before the start of 32k. Thank God Kuya Kim was wrong, only slight drizzles but no downpour during the race. 🙂
I participated in the 10k category. I noticed the big difference between the number of runners of 5k/10k over 16k/32k. 2-3 years ago, 5k & 10k categories are the jampacked categories. But now, everyone is running the longest distances. I don’t know if its addiction to running, to running long distances or to finisher shirts & medals. Lol. Or maybe, they are training for the upcoming marathons: Condura Skyway Marathon and The Bull Runner Dream Marathon. I don’t know, people run with their own reasons, I just have to leave it that way, maybe.
I finished my 10k run in 1hr and 16 minutes. I was actually faster than i expected. I thought i was going to finish the race for about 1 and a half hours. Maybe it’s because of the good weather. The Takbo.ph 20 Miler for me was a good race. There were marshals along the route, sufficient hydrations, visible medic, baggage counter & awesome finisher items and freebies. It was a simple race but they were able to provide the basic need of runners.
Score: 4/5 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Congratulations to all the finishers and thank you to the organizers for inviting me to join the race!
