Last weekend, the last and final Regional Selection camp was held at the PICC Forums for the Manila Leg. Boys and girls aged 10-14 went to PICC forums for the 2 day selection camp. Just like in other regional selection camps, participants’ various basketball skills like dribbling, shooting, passing and footworks were tested by our official coaches to help them determine who will move forward to the 2nd day of selection camp.
JrNNBA / JrWNBA presented by Alaska was first introduced in the Philippines in 2007. In 2008, the program expanded from 16 schools to more than 200. Chosen participants returned on Sunday, wherein they were divided into teams. They played against each other while our coaches were scrutinizing their performance and attitude inside the court. 11 boys and 6 girls made the final cut for the National Selection Camp: Nelia Jean David, Mikaela Denise Pentecostes, Kyla Flores, Stephanie Villapando, Akemi Marteja, Christine Jazz Unqui; Stacey Tibayan, Ernest John Felicida, Ruzzelle Andrew Dominguez, Jac Macasaet, Kai Sotto, Jesse Adrian Ortega, Edrian Custodio, Brevin Lyle Competente, Gab Reyes, Vehnjo Maximo & Christian Allen Vergara.
